Hi, the last couple of weeks have been a bit more creative for me, I hope you have felt the same. I bought myself a fountain pen, having not used one since secondary school, and I’ve found myself much more eager to write by hand (this is in preparation for May’s Scribbles monthly which is on the theme of ‘handwriting’). And because I’ve been preparing April’s collection, I’ve had music on a lot, so I wrote a poem! This is a very recent development for me, a couple of drafts, a lot of scribbling, but then I had to stop before I started to see the ‘faults’ and became too self conscious to share. I’m trying to practise what I preach!
Anyway, the prompts:
Week 3: For this prompt, try to put either your feelings or experiences of music into less than 100 words.
Week 4: Stream of consciousness is a scary form of writing sometimes, but if you read around it a little first, maybe it will work for you too?
I can recommend #theartistsway as a text to start with. And @prompted.by.nature writing meditations on Thursday evenings as a place to gently start writing from your gut before writing to a prompt.
So, this prompt is simply: write.
Let me know how you get on, and if you would like to submit something you have written by hand or something you have to say about writing by hand, please please email me : submissions@rachaelscribbles.com
Watch out for daily writing prompts in the first two weeks of April.
Enjoy!
